The smarter way to repair your meter box door — works where other hinges can't. No electrician. No full box replacement.

Broken meter box hinges are one of the most common issues on UK homes. Whether it's worn away, blown off, or held together with gaffer tape — the MeterBoxFix hinge will sort it.
The problem
Most broken meter box doors are a pain to repair because the original hinge points have failed, the box is mounted tight to a wall, or there simply isn't enough clearance for a conventional repair. Replacing the whole box can mean calling an electrician — and potential grid costs. There's a better way.
Why it works
Instead of relying on the original hinge points, the MeterBoxFix uses flat fixing plates, a flexible central hinge section, and multiple mounting positions — so it works in places where everything else fails.
Based on early customer feedback. For heavy doors, combine two hinges top & bottom for a rock-solid, permanent repair.
The fix
Fitted in minutes. Neat, secure, and barely noticeable — just a door that opens and closes properly again.
Hinge fitted to an older box mounted tight to brickwork — exactly the kind of awkward install this was designed for.
Perfect for
This repair hinge is especially useful where other options have already failed you.
Installation
No special skills. No special tools. Just a screwdriver and a few minutes.
What you receive
One pack sorts a single hinge repair. Got a heavy door or multiple damage points? Combine two hinges — top and bottom — for extra strength.
Who it's for
Whether you're fixing your own meter box or managing a portfolio of properties where broken hinges are a recurring cost — this is the practical, value-based solution. Multi-buy discounts available.
A note from the maker. This is a small UK maker with a focus on practical, real-world repairs. Every hinge is designed and produced here in the UK. Thank you for supporting independent design and small-scale manufacturing.
Customer reviews
"Bought 2 as some reviews said heavier doors would need 2, but I only used 1 on a heavy GRP gas meter cupboard door from 1971 and it was more than strong enough. Very neat 3D design, well printed, giving a high quality item (I received the upgraded version). Very good value compared to the near £200 needed for a cabinet over-box — my only viable option after fruitless hours trying to track down the make or type of it. Recommended & will definitely find a use for the spare I now have!"
"Great part, fixed my meter door perfectly."

Verified eBay buyer"Great!"
Verified eBay buyer"Good design — may need 2 per box if both hinges have broken. Added some wood on the inside for better grip for screws."
